The client had an outdated version of the CS-Cart mobile application with some custom modifications. Our task was to upgrade the app to the latest version while integrating new user-friendly features.
Main Goals
Upgrade the app.
Integrate a new payment method.
Modify the push notification system.
Improve the functionality: add a WhatsApp widget, a phone mask, the ability to select the delivery date and time.
What We Did
Mobile App Upgrade
We updated the CS-Cart app version, preserving all previously implemented customizations. This allowed the client to leverage the new features and improvements of the platform without losing functionality.
KNet Payment Method Integration
We integrated the Kuwaiti payment system KNet, simplifying and speeding up the payment process for users. This enhancement was crucial as standard payment methods were not suitable for users in Kuwait.
“Notify Me When Back in Stock” Feature
Out-of-stock items are now displayed at the bottom of the product lists and in muted colors. To allow the user to subscribe to such products and receive alerts when they are available for purchase again, we implemented a subscription feature for back-in-stock notifications.
Push Notification Settings
We modified the push notification system, allowing administrators to customize notifications based on order statuses. This enabled more flexible communication management with customers, avoiding excessive notifications.
The administrator can now choose whether to send a push notification when manually changing an order status using the new “Notify customer by push notification” setting.
WhatsApp Widget
We added a WhatsApp widget to the app, enabling users to initiate a chat with the marketplace instantly. This enhancement improved customer support, making it more responsive and convenient.
Video Gallery
We have added the ability to post video reviews from YouTube – expanding visual content has a positive effect on the customer’s awareness of the product and increases the likelihood of a purchase.
Ability to Select the Delivery Date and Time
On the checkout page, the customer can select the delivery date and time.
Phone Mask
Now there is a phone mask with the country code in the field for the customer’s phone number. This allowed the client to automate work with the store’s delivery service and added convenience to the user.
New Condition for Promotions
We have added a new condition – now the client can create promotions that will only work for orders placed through the mobile application.
Convenient Order Search
The new search option makes it easy and quick to find all orders placed through the mobile app.
Our Work Results
As a result of our work, GStoreQ8 received an updated, more functional, and user-friendly mobile application.
The integration of the new payment method and additional features increased user satisfaction and streamlined processes for both customers and store administration.
The subscription feature for back-in-stock notifications reduced the risk of losing a customer and increased his loyalty to the store.
WhatsApp widget integration made the connection between the customer and the store easier, adding speed and visibility.
Customizable push notifications have increased the level of communication with the client, who promptly receives notifications about changes in the status of his order.
The app upgrade and new functionalities enhanced the user experience and boosted customer loyalty, positively impacting the business overall.
